Maersk Unveils First Green Methanol-Powered Container Vessel
Landmark Milestone in Maritime Decarbonization

Shipping industry leader Maersk has achieved a significant milestone in its decarbonization efforts with the launch of its first container vessel powered by green methanol. The vessel, named "Ane Mærsk," is the first of six mid-sized container vessels заказанные with dual-fuel engines capable of operating on both conventional and green methanol. Maersk has also entered into an agreement with Dutch producer OCI Global for the delivery of green bio-methanol for the maiden journey. The company aims to deploy 19 green methanol-powered ships by 2040 as part of its commitment to achieving net zero emissions. This represents the most advanced green methanol-powered fleet in the global container industry.
